Top agents get recognition

Barfoot and Thompson was named Large Real Estate Agency of the Year at this year’s Real Estate Institute Awards.

Tuesday, August 07th 2012

Chief executive Wendy Alexander said: “The outstanding contribution to service from every one of our staff was evident. The award and acknowledgement within our industry is an honour and privilege – especially on the eve of the company’s 90th birthday in 2013.”

Bayleys Auckland Central and Counties/Manukau were named the best commercial and industrial sales offices in New Zealand. Gary Wallace won the award for best residential salesperson in New Zealand. Fellow Bayleys salesperson James Chan came runner-up in the best commercial and industrial salesperson category.

Judging criteria for the awards included the volume of successful sales transactions completed by both individual salespeople and by offices, and the value of  sales.

REINZ chief executive officer Helen Sullivan said the awards were indicative of the importance the institute placed on celebrating success stories in the industry.

The REINZ Awards were presented in Auckland and were attended by representatives from real estate agencies throughout New Zealand.
