Breaker Bay sale record

A Breaker Bay home has sold for $915,000 – believed to be a record price for the seaside suburb.

Thursday, November 18th 2004

The house at 182 Breaker Bay Rd, which has two or three bedrooms, was sold at auction to a South Island couple moving into the area.

Seatoun real estate agent Ted Jewett said the price was almost $200,000 higher than the previous highest sale in the bay last year.

The owners had bought the house for $605,000 in April last year – a record

price at the time, Mr Jewett said. They had since spent about $200,000 on improvements.
