Neighbourhood Support set to grow in Geraldine area

Don't be surprised if Neighbourhood Support signs start appearing in a neighbourhood near you. Several new groups are being planned for the Geraldine area while others are being rejuvenated.

After more than 30 people attended a meeting at the Pleasant Valley Hall this week, contact person Jacqui Robinson is confident groups in the Pleasant Valley, Te Moana and Four Peaks area will get a new lease of life.

Ms Robinson said some of the groups were first formed a decade ago, but with a number of people having moved into the area, it was time for the groups' information to be updated.

While she was confident those who had come into the district would have been welcomed by their immediate neighbours, Ms Robinson said the groups could be a good way for newcomers to meet others in the district.
