Christchurch-based Robert Brown Developments would submit a resource consent application to the Mackenzie District Council before Easter, Robert Brown said. This would enable building work on the complex, to be called Bluewater, to begin this spring.

"The lake houses will be subject to a management agreement and operated to a four-star minimum hotel standard, while still being able to be used by their owners with unlimited access. And every house has a view."

Unit sizes would range from one-bedroom, priced from $225,000, to 190sq m, five-bedroom apartments, priced from $575,000 to $675,000.

Bluewater is the latest of a series of Tekapo developments.

Residential projects the Residence (29 units) and Lochinver Run stage one (34 sections) were launched in November and December respectively, while the Godley Resort Hotel is set to undergo a $10 million facelift this winter.
