Warnings not to invest in a forestry scheme being promoted through unsolicited junk mail.

The scheme, by Prime Forest Group, offers investment in hardwood forests in Central America. It promises returns of up to 14 percent a year.People are asked to send personal details to a London address.

But the Securities Commission says Prime Securities does not have a New Zealand registered prospectus or an investment statement as required by law.
