Taranaki tops the places-to-go list

Taranaki is tipped to become New Zealand's hottest destination in 2004.

Accommodation website wotif.com yesterday released its picks for the country's five hottest destinations for the year, with Taranaki topping the list.

"It's where people are travelling to and we have quite a good listing (of accommodation providers) in that area," wotif's New Zealand manager Tania Witheford said.

The second hottest destination was tipped to be Fox Glacier, followed by Bay of Plenty, Marlborough and the South Island's West Coast.
