Thieves Prosecuted

Action by the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (REINZ) has resulted in the conviction of two offenders following thefts during open homes last year.

Sharon Andrea Cann, 33, was sentenced to 18 months in prison and Edward Waller, 28, received a three-year sentence when they appeared in the Auckland District Court, after stealing property worth more than $57,000 during open homes in Auckland. REINZ hired a private investigator to help catch the thieves.
