I'm looking for an investment property in either Hamilton or Tauranga where the rent covers the mortgage. Which of these cities do you think would be the better option? What is your opinion about capital gain in these cities in the coming three to five years?
Our Experts Answer:
I'd be a bit wary in regards to capital growth in both over the next few years however as a long term prospect I probably prefer Hamilton with it's proximity to Auckland and a large chunk of the country's population in general. Tauranga is known a bit for lower incomes, however this may change over time.
