Buffs queue for airfield sections

Aviation buffs are queuing for sections beside the runway at the Mandeville airfield even before the subdivision is finalised.

Thursday, October 28th 2004

Croydon Aircraft Company owners Colin and Maeva Smith have applied for resource consent to subdivide a strip of land between State highway 94 and the runway, creating eight sections of 2000 square metres and 2500 square metres.

CRT real estate agent Nigel Moore said yesterday the subdivision had drawn huge interest from aviation enthusiasts in New Zealand and overseas keen to build a home next to an airfield where they can keep their planes.

Limiting the number of sections made the development quite exclusive, he said.
